
Jessika Roswall

Jessika Roswall has been European Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy since 2024. Her portfolio covers the protection of the natural world and the circular economy, including the Circular Economy Act, a single market for sustainable products and secondary materials, the zero-pollution ambition, the European Water Resilience Strategy and the EU's work towards a global plastics treaty.
Before joining the Commission, she was Sweden's Minister for EU Affairs (2022–2024) and a Member of the Swedish Parliament, the Riksdag (2010–2022), where she served as Second Vice-President of its EU Committee. Earlier in her career she worked as a lawyer at Wigert & Placht.
